Laurel View Dressage League Enjoys Flying Finish

Top of Class 3 for Jennifer McCann and Oakhill Charm

It’s been a wonderful summer, and another great one for Dressage at Laurel View. Competitors have come from near and far to strut their stuff in the dressage arenas, the Centre as ever is very grateful for the support from the competitors, as they are what makes it all worthwhile.

As the centre has been very busy of late preparing for and running exams on top of the regular riding school and competitive activities, the results from the August and September plus the all-important final have been combined in this article.

Novice win for Linda McIlwaine and Beechmount Baxter

Competitors featuring in all class results should be very proud of their performances, as they have beat off stiff competition to earn these ribbons. But coming out on top at the end of the league is best accolade of all.

Earning the red rosette for the Walk/Trot league class was Vicky Marsden riding Tiger Lilly, leaving Cindy Cunningham and Apache Dove in second place.

Newcomer Winner Caroline Chambers and Villa’s Dream

Caroline Chambers and Villas Dream can no longer claim to be Newcomers after topping the league Newcomer class. Coming in just behind in a very commendable second place were Gillian McCann and Amazon.

Jennifer McCann and Oakhill Charm won the top spot for prelim class 3, second in this very strong league class was Wizard of Oz ridden by Sophie Winn.

Penny Murphy and Tick-it ticked all the right boxes in prelim class 4. Beechmount Baxter and Linda McIlwaine were an extremely close second in this league competition.

Tinker and Sarah Saied earn second in the Riding School competition

Novice class 5 saw the results of the previous class reversed with Linda McIlwaine and Beechmount Baxter in the number one spot and Penny Murphy and Tick-it second.

The open class was won by Lucy Webb and Zidane riding the Advanced Medium tests throughout the league.

At Laurel View we actively encourage our Riding School students to participate in competitions and reward their achievements. Taking the top spot with the best average overall was Diane Sefton riding Tally in Class 1. Sarah Saied took the second place honours riding both Tinker and Rab in the league competitions.

It seems like the Summer was over in a flash, but competitors have the opportunity to capture their Summer Dressage performance in the form of a photograph from Equi-Tog who were in attendance at all competitions throughout the league.

At Laurel View we skip straight from Summer to Winter, as the Winter Dressage League is all set to commence again on Sunday 12^th October. Entries open right up until noon on Thursday 9^th. Check out the full schedule at www.laurelview.co.uk
