Cavan’s Last Horse Sales of 2013
All roads will lead to Cavan Equestrian Centre for the much anticipated November Sales – International Performance, Young Stock Sport Horse and Registered Irish Draught. These last Sales of 2013 kick off on Tuesday 26th & Wednesday 27th with the Performance Horse & Pony sale and with 275 entries catalogued it will undoubtedly have something of interest for everyone.
The breakdown of all the lots on offer for sale is as follows;
- 40 ponies – 128cms, 138cms and 148cms including some with plenty of experience.
Among the horses offered for sale, the progeny of many famous sires are catalogued including Camiro de Haar Z, Lux Z, ARS Vivendi, Captain Clover, Mermus R, Harlequin du Carel to name but a few. The breakdown of horses by age is as follows;
25 x six year olds 40 x five year olds
40 x 4 year olds 65 x three year olds
as well as 35 horses over six years of age.
Also included in this line up are KEC Corsica a 10 year old jumping 1.50 level, 3 year olds who competed and were in the top placings at the loose jumping final at the Cavan Indoor International Show and ridden Connemaras and Irish Draughts.
All entries catalogued for this Performance sale will be performing before going into the sales ring – either being ridden or lunged over a set of poles and all are proven or potential showjumpers, eventers, hunting, dressage or pleasure riding animals. Veterinary certificates and vendor warranties are submitted with each horse and pony offered for sale. This ensures that all animals are fit for sale and as an additional reassurance, re-vetting facilities are on site.
To purchase top young stock and broodmares you will need to attend the sales on Thursday 28th November at the Young Stock Sport Horse sale with over 100 entries catalogued featuring the progeny of many famous sires; Arkan, Cardento, Pacino, Hold Up Premier, ARS Vivendi, Cassino, Peter Pan, etc.
The breakdown of this sale is as follows;

Foals 78 Lots Broodmares 3 Lots
The Registered Irish Draught sale starts at 4pm with 501 entries catalogued foals, yearlings, 2 year olds and broodmares featuring all top pedigrees of the breed
The breakdown of the Irish Draught lots on offer at the sale is as follows;
Foals 32 Lots Yearlings 6 Lots
2 Year Olds 5 Lots Broodmares 14 Lots
All entries catalogued for these three sales will be on show before going into the sales ring. Veterinary certificates if applicable and vendor warranties submitted with each animal offered for sale will be available for viewing in the secretary’s office.
