Drizzle Doesn’t Dampen Spirits at Gransha Equestrian Centre
It was a typically ‘soft’ Irish Sunday morning at Gransha but the riders took no notice of the drizzle and enjoyed their jumping.
It is a great opportunity to get young or green horses out for a schooling session. No one leaves the arena disappointed as there is help available to lower back poles or give a bit of advice when asked for, and everyone gets to jump two rounds regardless of faults in the first round.
First with a double clear in the 60cm was Debbie Rush on Archie followed by Carolyn Avery on Sir Rowley with just 4 faults in the second round.
Joint first in the 70cm class were Valerie McKie on Jubilee, Nuala Belford on Loose Change, Daline Hamilton on Chino and Anna Skelly on Halle Bear.
First in the 80cm class was Julie McConkey on Don’t Tell Boo, closely followed by Anna Skelly on Halle Bear and third was Charlotte De Montmorency riding Touch, who then went on to win the 90cm class followed by Don’t Tell Boo and Julie McConkey.
The Tuesday evening indoor league starts Tuesday 19th November and runs for 5 weeks, starting at 7.00pm each week, while the Sunday morning jumping continues as long as the weather permits.
