Training Show Success at Laurel View
The Friday night training show saw young riders and young horses entering the world of show jumping. These shows are ideal for introducing the young horse to a course of jumps, warming up along side other horses, pa system, music etc and also the younger and ‘not so younger’ riders to the circuit. Riders of all ages and abilities are more than welcome to come along and jump at these training shows as who knows but this could be the start of bigger and better things as help and advice is on hand to improve knowledge and riding skills. One of the younger riders is Oliver Doherty on ‘Bella’ who is following in his sisters footsteps as he jumps clear at these shows gaining confidence and ability. Another young rider who has gained immensely is Morgan Skillen on ‘Mayo’ as they jumped a double clear in the 70 cm and then the 80 cm classes.
The SJI Spring Horse League final is next Saturday, 27th April, at 10.00 am, 80 cm – 1.30 m classes, Junior and Young Riders will be incorporated into 1.10 m and 1.20 m classes.
