O’Regan Wins RED MILLS Munster GP Beecher Wins FBD Speed Series
CORK’S Alan O’Regan scored a home win for the rebel county, taking the latest round of the Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league at Blackrock Show in Co Cork.

In a repeat of his victory in the eighth round of the series at Charleville, O’Regan’s Blackrock win came aboard his own 10-year-old chesnut gelding Electric Feel, who is by Harlerquin Du Carel out of a dam by Crusing. They stopped the clock clear in 38.52 seconds in the second round jump-off, to move onto 37 points on the league table, with Francis Connors and Uskerty Diamond Lady still out in front on 75, while Liam O Meara and Realt Na Carrig lie in second place on 51 points.
Tipperary’s Seamus Hayes finished as runner-up at Blackrock with his own gelding Twister, crossing the line clear in 39.12, while Trallee’s Maura Counihan took third place with Killerisk Minnie finishing in a time of 41.77. David Moran and Derg Showtime came home in fourth (42.85), with Olivia Roycroft and Westpalstown Lady in fifth (44.74), while young rider Patrick Joyce scored another impressive finish with Piltown S, coming home in sixth (46.72).
FBD Speed Series
The Beecher brothers from Tallow in West Waterford dominated the FBD Speed Series at Blackrock Show, filling the top-two places.
Former Hickstead Derby winner Paul Beecher took the winners prize with Danqu, a seven-year-old gelding by Ustinov who is owned by Seryna Van Kuelen. Tadhg Beecher finished as runner-up with Loughnatousa Deman, coming home a second-and-a-half behind his sibling.
Helen Gould was the highest placed Cork rider, filling third place with Coolatin Little George, which was a repeat of their placing at the previous FBD round at Maryville.
Caroline Huva and Caspion finished fourth, with Dylan Daly and Corvana in fifth, just ahead of Danielle Quinlivan and Upsanddowns in sixth.
The Connolly’s RED MILLS Munster Grand Prix league and FBD Speed Series now take a three week break for the Dublin Horse Show and Millstreet International, before resuming on August 22nd at Limerick Show.
