‘CJO Curiosity Lux’ Reaps Success at Connell Hill’s SJI Horse League
Thursday saw the last chance to qualify for the final of the SJI Summer League which will be held on Thursday 30th July at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre. Once again competitors arrived in full show attire, horses turned out to perfection, oozing enthusiasm eager to jump tracks designed and set by Course Designer Colm Quinn. Judge David Greene got the show into full swing with the 80 cm class which saw ‘CJO Curiosity Lux’ open the show with a very confident double clear ridden by David Taylor and owned by Trevor Overend from Ballymena. This young mare then strutted her stuff taking the 90 cm challenge again reaping success. Colm set to work on the 1.0 m class with Victoria Nelson, from Antrim, jumping the first double clear of the challenge on, Angela Nelsons’gelding, ‘Jazz Black Jack’. Another young mare, ‘Templehill Ludo W Lady’ owned by Lorna Robinson, displayed her talent in the 1.10 m challenge jumping double clear, ridden by Chelsea Robinson. Lucy Buchanan then took the 1.20 m track all in her stride jumping the first double clear of the class on Linda Courtneys’ gelding, ‘Bens Star Verdi’. Competitors to have jumped at four legs to qualify for the final on Thursday 30th July at 10.00 am, 80 cm – 1.30 m. The Autumn League will commence on Saturday 19th September at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m, with the Grand Prix Horse show scheduled for Saturday 5th September and the Ulster Amateur Rider of the Year Show on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.
