Jump Cross Fun at Ardnacashel
Ardnacashel held the first of a series of Jump Crosses very kindly sponsored by Botanica on 12th July. With the sun shining, course waiting and ground in fabulous condition both competitors and organisers were looking forward to the day ahead.
The first class of the day was the 70 cm. Riders had to jump a few fences in the arena before jumping out, up the steps to start the cross country. The first competitor of the day was Suzie Rodgers riding Rosie who set the bar high for the others coming home with just a total of 8 faults and had a great time of 39.86 seconds in the last section of the course which was timed! Next up was Siobhan Mulligan riding her super cob Penny who flew round the mixture of portable and permanent cross country fences also only obtaining 8 faults. Following Siobhan was her daughter Olivia Mulligan riding her very versatile pony Riverdale Lad. Olivia and Riverdale Lad were in brilliant form as they were clear all the way and obtained a fast time of 29.29 seconds in the timed section. Claire Dobbin riding Louie was the next competitor to obtain a clear round just a little faster than Olivia with 25.04 seconds on the clock putting her in first place. Other competitiors were not phased by Claire’s speedy round though!
