Damien Griffin emerged victorious in the latest round of the Pegus Leinster Summer Tour, the Galway rider came out on top at Ballivor Show in Co Meath with Mary Mulkern’s 12-year-old gelding Dutell.
Thirty-five horses and riders went post with Griffin finishing with almost a second to spare over his nearest challenger James Hogg from Co Fermanagh, who finished as runner-up with Always On My Mind.
Gary Quinn finished just over two seconds further back in joint third with the 10-year-old gelding Renolli, while Elizabeth Power finished on exactly the same time with Doonaveeragh O One.
Zoe McElliot and Knockatee Lad finished fifth, just ahead of John Floody and Mise le Meas in sixth.
The Pegus LST now moves to Co Kilkenny, with Ger O Brien’s Raheen Na Gun hosting the fifth round of the popular series this Sunday 21 June, before moving to Boswell in Co Wicklow a week later.
