Busy time For Competitors at Ravensdale Lodge
Week ending 6th June 2015, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre.
It is set to be another busy week at Ravensdale Lodge as the centre plays host to the Young Event Horse Series (YES) on Thursday 11th June closely followed by RDS qualifiers for Connemara Performance Hunter & Performance Irish Draught on Saturday 13th June. Both of these events will combine arena jumping followed by a session out cross-country while the YES will also include a dressage test as well as in hand performance, confirmation & suitability judging. Regular weekly shows will be held around the above two shows as SJI registered show jumping for horses & ponies is moved to Tuesday 9th June instead of its normal Wednesday slot in order to avoid a clash with RDS qualifiers. There is a start time of 11am for the six modified horse classes which run from 80cm to 1.30m while the usual 128cm, 138cm & 148cm pony classes commence at 5.30pm.
Horse & pony training league continues outdoors on Friday 12th June from 5.30pm with classes from X poles to 1.10m with the additional Saddle Pad draw for all entries on the day proving very popular with large numbers attending last week. Arena eventing on Saturday also saw a large turnout for this popular mix of show jumps and cross country fences, this competition resumes on Saturday 20th June after the RDS qualifiers on June 13th. This competition has a start time of 2pm for the 70cm class which is followed by the 85cm class at 3pm and the 1m class at 4pm. The month draws to a close with the centre’s annual RDS qualifiers for Amateurs on Saturday 27th June while July will start with a bang on Sunday 5th July when Ravensdale Lodge will hold their Mid Summer Mini Grand Prix Show which will have five classes from 90cm to 1.35m Mini Grand Prix.
