It’s a Good Friday at Connell Hill’s Training Show

It was certainly a ‘Good Friday’ at Connell Hill as March was waved good bye and April welcomed with Easter celebrations which kick started with an Easter Egg raffle throughout the Training Show. Competitors were entered into the raffle and one lucky competitor in each class won an ‘Easter Egg’. This eggstra-special fun filled evening commenced with the x-poles which saw young riders confidently jump clear rounds claiming their red rosettes with Joel O’Neill the first lucky winner of an ‘Easter Egg’. Charlotte McAllister on ‘Timmy’ and Keren McKenzie on ‘Blaze’ then jumped clear in the 40 cm class with Keren the lucky winner of the ‘Egg’ in this class. Keren and ‘Blaze’, a most promising combination and certainly one to watch out for in the future, then soared higher jumping clear in the 50 cm class with Samantha Billings on ‘Thor’ with Samantha also winning the ‘Egg’. Rory O’Neill took the 60 cm class by storm, not only was Rory drawn to win the ‘Egg’ but he jumped the only double clear rounds of the class on ‘Blue’ and ‘Sugar’. Audrey Leahy then displayed calm controlled riding skills jumping double clear in the 70 cm class on ‘Portia’ with Erin Dunseath winning the raffle ‘Egg’. This safety conscious venue saw Hugo O’Neill introduce ‘John’ to the world of competing jumping clear in the 80 cm class with Victoria Nelson closing the class amongst the double clears and also winning the ‘Egg’. This thoroughly enjoyable evening, where everyone was a part of it, drew to a close with the 90 cm class which saw double clear rounds for Natasha McKernon on ‘Star Statiz’ and Sophie McPeake on ‘Dominoe’ receiving a huge round of applause and cheering only to erupt again as Sophie was announced as winning the last ‘Easter Egg’ of the night. Well done to everyone, keep up the good work ‘Carry On Training’ and look forward to welcoming everyone back next Friday night, same time – same place - Connell Hill at 6.30 pm, x-poles, 40 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm – 1.0 m.
