The ‘Spirit’ of Training at Connell Hill
What an unpredictable week weather wise but the ‘weather man’ ensured it was a most pleasurable night at Connell Hills’ Training Show. Competitors arrived bursting to get going and what a night with some incredible rounds of jumping proving ‘training’ pays off. We all need confidence building should it be rider or young horse and where better to gain this than that at ‘Connell Hill’ which commenced their show with clear rounds for all in the x-poles class. Tarryn Shiels on ‘April’ and Patrick McWilliams on ‘Connie’ gained credence for clear rounds in the 50 cm class and then double clear rounds in the 60 cm class. Training is all about enthusiasm, motivation, the willpower and spirit to get going and be better and none more so than the 70 cm class which saw Chloe Connon jump the first double clear on ‘Spirit’ with Grace Moore on ‘Millie’ and Donna Barron on ‘Duchess’. Cathy Doey jumped the first double clear in the 80 cm class on ‘Freddie’ and Gaby Morgan jumped the last double clear on ‘Tabby’. It was a most successful nights training for Rachael Fullerton jumping double clears in the 90 cm and 1.0 m classes on ‘Ceffi’. So why not load up and join in the ‘spirit’ of training at Connell Hill next Friday night at 6.30 pm, classes x-poles to 1.10 m.
