Adeline Hecart Wins Grand Prix
Once again Centro Hípico de Vilamoura hosted another great show jumping competition. The CSI2 * Grand Prix was won by Adeline Hecart.
The French rider Adeline Hecart was the best among 67 other riders who competed in the Grand Prix, this weekend at Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2015.
Adeline, with the help of her horse Question D’ Orval, won the 1,45 m competition.
Second place was for another French rider. Cédric Angot, with Saxo de la Cour, finished the jump-off with four seconds more than the first team. Bronze was awarded to the Italian rider Antonio Alfonso, with Redskin de Riverland. Fourth position was for Sanne Thijssen with Con Quidan. Mário Wilson Fernandes and Zurito got the fifth place.
The Portuguese rider finished this week with a grand finale. On Saturday, the 7th, he won the Big Tour for 1,40 m obstacles, with the help of Abanderado.
Today’s Grand Prix, CSI2 *, had a total prize money of 24,500 euros and was part of the programme Loulé – Cidade Europeia do Desporto.
The Mayor of Loulé, the President of Junta de Freguesia de Quarteira, as well as Desidério Silva, President of Turismo do Algarve, followed the show and used the opportunity to visit the amazing paddocks of the equestrian village, built at Centro Hípico de Vilamoura. Vítor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé, stressed the value of this show for the economy of the local economy and praised the work done by António Moura, organiser of the Atlantic Tour.
Monday will be a day off for the riders, but Tuesday the show will start with the young horses’ competition, for 5, 6 and 7 years old.
