‘Bounty of Cash’ at Connell Hill’s Unreg Horse Shows

| February 24, 2015

connellhillWintry conditions are still to the fore but this did not dampen the enthusiasm of riders travelling to Connell Hill for the chance to ‘grab the cash’ at the Unregistered Horse Show on Sunday.  The opportunity of preparing for the season ahead with a bounty of cash up for grabs was too good to miss.  Jumping professionally designed tracks in the indoor arena, which has a superb surface, gives horses that wee push to encourage them forward with confidence.  Competitors in full show attire arrived early full of zest with horses champing at the bit eager to get going.  Stephanie Scullion jumped the first double clear of the day in the 80 cm class on ‘Joules’ followed by Julie McLernon on ‘Libra’ and Clare McVeigh on the young prince ‘Harry’.  Lynsey Robb on ‘Glenvine Creg-ny-baa’ then jumped the first double clear in the 90 cm class and Katie King jumped the last double clear of the class on ‘Gina’ with Katie and ‘Gina’ then going on to claim double clear in the 1.0 m class.  Alison McClean then ‘grabbed the cash’ for the only double clear in the 1.10 m class on ‘Shilow Natal’ and Robert Newell jumped the only double clear in the 1.20 m class on ‘Sally’.  Connell Hill welcomes everyone to the final of their ‘Unregistered Horse Show – Grab The Cash’ shows next Saturday, 28th February, at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m, last chance to get in that little bit of extra training/fitness before the Registered Shows which commence on Saturday 7th March at 10.00 am.  For further information contact Gillian 078 0317 8009 or Grace 077 6588 4254.
