Marc Bettinger wins Hipismo- Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2015 Grand Prix
German rider Marc Bettinger, riding Bacardi finishes this week with a victory at the Grand Prix
The first Grand Prix of the Atlantic Tour 2015 took place this Sunday. This Grand Prix (CSI2 *), played at a height of 1.45 m, was won by Marc Bettinger and Bacardi team. The German rider finished the jump-off with the outstanding time of 34′ 25, almost three seconds less than the next rider. Laura Renwick and her horse, Heliodor Hybris, finished in the second position. The Italian team, Bruno Chimirri and his horse Luca, achieved the third place on the podium. Regarding the Portuguese riders, this time no one managed to play the jump-off.
The first Vilamoura Atlantic Tour Grand Prix had a prize money of 24,500 €, counting towards the Longines ranking of FEI.
In the first week of competition, one of the largest equestrian shows worldwide, highlights also went to the British riders Laura Renwick, Nicole Pavitt and Sammie Jo Coffin, which summed victories in the new horses’ competitions as well as in those counting to the FEI ranking.
Monday will be resting day at the equestrian Village of Vilamoura. Next Tuesday, 24th, the show will continue on the arena with the new horses’ competitions.
Riders and horses still have ahead over 5 weeks of competition in this edition of Vilamoura Atlantic Tour.
The show gathers riders from 35 countries and is organized by Centro Hípico de Vilamoura, managed by António Moura.
