Competitors ‘Grab The Cash’ at Connell Hill
Connell Hill hosted the second of their four ‘Unregistered Horse Show – Grab The Cash’ shows on Saturday with professionally designed tracks. This show saw competitors arrive jumping at the opportunity to get their horses out easing them back into work in a relaxed environment with the added benefit of sunshine. This venue is certainly ideal for this return to work after the winter break as both the outdoor warm up arena and indoor arena have a superb surface which is carefully maintained making a comfortable ride for both horse and rider. Lesley Wilson found this show hugely beneficial as just returning to competition following an injury, ‘grabbed’ the first cash of the day in the 80 cm class on ‘Lyleview Martell’. Lesley and ‘Lyleview Martell’ then jumped the 90 cm class and once again stood proudly ‘grabbing’ the cash. The arena crew then adjusted the track for the 1.0 m class which saw Alison McClean professionally jump a well controlled double clear on ‘Shy’ to be amongst the winners. Competitors then walked the course as the clocks were set for the 1.20 m class which oozed excitement as each took the challenge but there was no stopping Laura Reid taking first on ‘Temara’ and second on ‘Bobby’. So if you want to ‘grab’ some cash there are two more shows scheduled, Sunday 22nd February and Saturday 28th February, where everyone is welcome and remember ‘if you are not in you cannot win’!
