Grace and Millie Soaring High at Connell Hill

Drifting towards the end of January Connell Hill welcomed competitors eager to enhance riding skills and train/school horses for the upcoming season at the Training Show on Friday night.  Training plays such an important role in any sport and none more so than the equine world hence these shows are a huge benefit with the added bonus of an indoor arena with a first class, highly maintained, surface where guidance and assistance is on hand.  The McAllister sisters, Sophie on ‘Angus’ and Charlotte on ‘Timmy’ take it all in their stride each week and jumped clear in the x-poles with Holly Logan on ‘Peter Pan’.  Samantha Billings on ‘Thor’ and Megan Carvil on ‘Busby’ then jumped clear in the 50 cm class.  The course then adjusted for the 60 cm class and some quality jumping with double clears by Chloe Connon on ‘Fieldside Free Spirit’ and Erin McCartney on ‘Tilly’.  The facilities at Connell Hill endeavour riders the opportunity to go forward and progress in their height challenges confidently and as the 70 cm class got under way Grace Moore jumped double clear on ‘Millie’, then jumping at the chance to soar higher into the next class up, she claimed red for a double clear in the 80 cm class.  It was then a full house of double clear rounds for the 90 cm class with Katie-Lee Houston jumping the only double clear on ‘Minto’ in the 1.0 m class to end the night.  So trot on over on any Friday night and jump at the opportunity to enhance your skills and keep an eye out for our schedule of upcoming shows including Working Hunter, Registered, Dressage, Working Hunter Clinic with Caroline Whiteley, Friday 13^th and Saturday 14^th February, this could be your ‘Pathway to HOYS’ so book your place with Gillian 078 0317 8009.  Further information contact Gillian or Grace 077 6588 4254.
