A New Pathway to Performance with The Pony Club

| December 19, 2014

unnamedThe latest update to The Pony Club’s e learning system launches today, December 18th 2014, at Olympia, the London International Horse Show.

www.PonyPrepPlus.org is the next level of The Pony Club’s e learning sitewww.PonyPrep.org, built in conjunction with e learning specialists HT2. Since launching in 2010, PonyPrep has been enjoyed by over 200,000 users working towards their D-C level Pony Club Efficiency Tests and has also won an e learning award, so it is very much hoped that PonyPrep Plus will enjoy the same level of success.

PonyPrep Plus is based around the same concept as PonyPrep, enhancing the vocational training The Pony Club already offers, but as the next level on it is based on The Pony Club’s C+ Efficiency Test and associated age bracket upwards, both in terms of content but also in look, feel and interactivity.

There are three key areas to the site:

Profile: An area where users can express themselves, including uploading images of activities, joining virtual Pony Club groups and displaying their achievements.

Skills: Contains bite size learning content to aid progression towards Pony Club Efficiency Tests from C+ upwards, backed up by images, videos and interactions to aid learning.

*Challenges: Giving the chance to show skills learnt by taking part in virtual competitions, users are able to upload and mark videos uploaded by other users against specified criteria, providing feedback and developing ability to recognise and analyse good quality riding and horse care.

Members of Ivanhoe Equestrian Centre, also a Pony Club Centre, enjoyed a preview of the site as part of the testing process, to ensure usability and design ahead of the launch.

“I like everything about PonyPrep Plus, the site is very good and easy to use” commented Sophie, aged 16. “I would recommend it to my friends, because we are always asking each other questions and now instead we can go on PonyPrep Plus!”

“I really like how there is a quiz at the end of each skills section, and the pictures also help you to learn” commented Alice, aged 13.   “PonyPrep Plus will definitely help me work towards my Pony Club Tests and Badges”.

“I’m very impressed with the PonyPrep Plus website; it is a clear and informative site that will help our older Pony Club Members expand on their current knowledge and allow them to take a more in depth and informative look at their regular activities at our centre; and I’m certain Members will love sharing their achievements and progress with their friends” commented Ivanhoe Equestrian’s Proprietor Emma Lebutt. Emma continued “I’m pleased PonyPrep Plus is of a level accessible to all, whether Branch or Centre Members and whatever their goals and aims in their horsey activities”.

“We knew that those in the younger ages ranges, working around their E Tests upwards, have really enjoyed using PonyPrep, but that those who are slightly older were beginning to look for something that felt a little more for them” comments Jenny Cowen, Training Officer for The Pony Club. “We developed PonyPrep Plus, consulting those in the age range throughout the build process to check it looks, feels and benefits them as it should; we are really pleased to be able to get the site live during the winter months so everyone can use it to prepare for their goals in 2015”.

www.PonyPrepPlus.org is live from December 18th 2014 and is available for anyone to use, not just Pony Club Members, free of charge; it is hoped that it will go on to benefit as many young equestrian enthusiasts as the original site.
