Hot Competition at Laurel View November Dressage

November 9^th was a busy dressage day at Laurel View Equestrian Centre for the second leg of the Winter Dressage League.

 

Debbie Osborough had the delightful task of judging the walk trot competitors as they stepped out the Pony Club D Level test, Katherine Barnes and Ballinarry Pepsi Lee had the best moves on the day scoring 73.85%. While the blue ribbon went to JJ and Diane Jones. Third placed competitor Jean Topping and her grand-daughter Chelsea were doing well as they managed to pick up rosettes at two different equestrian centres on the same day.

 

Debbie also judged the Newcomers and the winning rosette for the Pony Club C Level test went to Holly Reilly and It’s Just Jake, the runner up spot in this class was earned by Bree Rutledge and Jewel.

 

Ivor Harper judged the very strong Prelim 7 class awarding Darryl McKinney and Ballylin Ben the top spot with a super 75%. The Wizard of Oz and Sophie Winn also hit the seventies to score second place.

 

Martina McKinley came equipped for the outdoor judge’s box in November and cast her eye over the competitors riding Prelim 15.  Top scorer in this class was Erin Faloona riding Margie Mac, with the blue ribbon for this class going to Darryl McKinney and Ballylin Ben.

 

After some warming soup Martina McKinley continued to judge the Novice competitors and the winning pair were Tick It and Penny Murphy, with Wish and Ruaidhri O’Cainain coming in a close second place.

 

The Open competitors were a little thin on the ground, but Angelene Nicholson lent her expert eye to judge the class and the red ribbon went to Penny Murphy and Tick It for their Novice test.

As ever Laurel View are indebted to the competitors, judges and scribes, who along with the Laurel View team make it all possible and worthwhile.

 

There is no December dressage competition as there are just not enough Sundays to fit it all in, so the third leg in the Winter League will take place next year on the 11^th January.
