Numbers rise at Ravensdale Lodge as weather takes a turn for the worse

Week ending 19th October 2014, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre

There were increased attendances at all shows held at Ravensdale Lodge this week as the weather turned more seasonal and combinations sought the comfort of an indoor arena. Thursday’s SJI registered horse show recorded a big increase as did Saturday afternoon’s Horse First indoor arena eventing league. Friday evening’s Botanica International horse and pony training league saw an increased number of combinations who braved the elements and were happy to be under cover on a wet and windy night.

Competitions continue this week with a packed schedule of shows and events which commence again on Thursday with SJI registered indoor show jumping for horses. There are sis modified classes from 80cm to 1.30m and this show has a start time of 11am. Friday evening, 24th October Sees the start of the Bumper Halloween Weekend with bonus points and additional prizes to be given away in the Botanica International indoor horse & pony training league which has 7 classes from X poles to 1.10m and a start time of 5.30pm. There will be bonus points and prizes on offer also for Saturday afternoons Horse First indoor arena eventing league which has a start time of 2pm for the 70cm class, 3pm for the 85cm class and 4pm for the 1m class. Finally, the centre will host its annual “Spooktacular Bumper Halloween Show” on Sunday 26th October from 11am. There are seven classes from X poles to 1.10m scheduled against the clock on the day with great prizes on offer courtesy of Ravensdale Lodge, Mackins Horse Feeds, Horse First, Botanica International and Moorhill Saddlery. This show is open to horses & ponies and all are welcome to participate in what is sure to be a day of fun filled competition.

90cm class, divided between: Janine Heather’s Blackmoor Heather (J. Farrell), Lisa Spratt’s Coolcorran Cool Imp (L. Spratt) & Lynn Patterson’s Cujo (L. Patterson).

1m class, divided between: E. Larkin’s Donaghmore Dolly (B. Murphy), Eileen Duggan’s Libero Flight (E. Duggan), Caroline Gibson’s Clintendro (C. Gibson), A. Brennan’s Miss Chippison (B. Murphy), P. G Cusack’s Coolskeagh Prince (R. Cusack), Mary Mc Shane’s Americal (M. Mc Shane) & Pamela Fox’s Bonny Sir Edward (P. Fox).

1.20m class, divided between: Barry Murphy’s Lismon De Reve Cream (B. Murphy), Hara’s De Reve & Hilton Stables Belle De Reve Z (O. Mc Camley), Laura Mc Causland’s Vunweel H (L. Mc Causland), Michael Mc Aleese’s MCA Mc Cool (M. Mc Aleese), Dermot Mc Bride’s Vechtas Rose (B. Murphy) & Sheikh Samir Mirdad’s Mirdad’s Hawa (J. Floody).

There were nine clear rounds in the 85cm class at the Horse First indoor arena eventing league at Ravensdale Lodge and eight of them picked up the maximum 3 points. Horse First indoor arena eventing league continues Saturday 25th October to 13th December. Start time of 2pm for 70cm class followed by the 85cm class at 3pm and 1m class at 4pm.

Bumper bank holiday Halloween show, Sunday 26th October from 11am. Timed classes from X poles to 1.10m and great prizes on offer from Ravensdale Lodge, Horse First, Mackins Horse Feeds, Botanica International and Moorhill Saddlery. Open to horses and ponies, all are welcome so come along and join in what is sure to be a day of fun filled competition.
