Ireland Through to Semi Finals At European Polo Championships
IRELAND beat England 7 goals to 6 in yesterday’s game at the European Polo Championships in Chantilly, France and go through to the semi-finals on Friday.
Ireland’s Max Hutchinson and Sebastian Dawnway were scorers. Both teams were undefeated until this point.
The Irish team faced England at the FIP European Championships having beaten both Austria and Spain.
During Saturday’s match against Spain Captain Stephen Hutchinson sustained an injury and was substituted by Patrick Ephson. The Irish team rallied through to win Monday’s match against Austria by an impressive 7 goals to 4.
Sebastian Dawnay, Irish Polo Team Captain said: “I am pleased with the way the team played and even though England is a strong team I felt it was all to play for today. On Friday we are up against either France or Italy, depending on who wins League A.”
