Emma The ‘Bounty’ Rider at Connell Hill’s Training Show
Connell Hills’ Training Show on Friday night moved indoors as we head into the Autumn with competitors jumping at the opportunity to train, school and brush up on riding techniques over courses designed on a first class surface. This show is a tremendous advantage to rider and horse where lacking confidence or nerves kick in with ability and fun jumping out the window as guidance and assistance is on hand to encourage and over-come these stumbling blocks. It was red rosettes for all in the x-poles class with clear rounds for Maeve Carlin on ‘Cinders, Catriona Fagan on ‘Sparky’, Maisey Gibbons on ‘Cindy’ and Connor Stewart on ‘Harry’. Jumping clear for red in the 50 cm class were Myah McLean on ‘Thunder’, Maeve Carlin on ‘Cinders’ and Grace Moore on ‘Millie’. This was certainly a ‘Red’ night as the 60 cm class saw a ‘full house’ of double clears. The show then moved on to the 70 cm class which saw Ben Maybin on ‘Tom Thumb’ jump the first double clear followed by, riders with their previous success, Emma Hoy on ‘Bounty’ and Taylor Hunter on ‘Blue’. The course then set for the 80 cm class saw another successful double clear for Ben on ‘Tom Thumb’ with Audrey Hunter on ‘Zoe’, Beth Boone on ‘Angel’, Nieve Baker on ‘Clyde’,and Catherine Walls on ‘Fox Trot’. David Taylor then jumped ‘Sophie’ and ‘Ernie’ double clear over the 90 cm course with Beth Boone on ‘Angel’ and Morgan Skillen on ‘Mayo’. The last class of the night, the 1.0 m class, saw Laura Wilson jump the only double clear on ‘Rosie’. Well done to everyone who competed and we welcome you all back next Friday night.
