Connell Hill’s Training Show ‘Too Hot To Handle’
The ever popular venue, Connell Hill, welcomed competitors to the Training Show on Friday night where some amazing rounds of jumping were witnessed by spectators as horses and ponies approached fences with style, agility and true grit eager to please their riders with success. Success is not measured by winning but by competing and where better to attain this ‘success’ than Connell Hill where no matter how you do you will gain confidence as a rider, or indeed the novice horse, and the courage to go forward and keep trying; as help and assistance is on hand with the added bonus of a first class ground force facility. The show commenced with the x-poles class which saw clear rounds for Nicky Nesbitt on ‘Eden’ and Jessica McDowell on ‘Chloe’, Daniel O’Loughlin on ‘Katie’ then jumped clear in the 50 cm class with Bethany Gordon on ‘Shane’ picking up red in the 60 cm class. The show was really heating up as the car parks filled and competitors arrived to take the challenging feat of competing in a performance based style environment which saw amongst the double clears in the 70 cm class Chelsea Topping on ‘Too Hot to Handle’. The arena crew adjusted the course for the 80 cm class as competitors walked eager to get going which saw a perfectly stride double clear for Georgia Kelly on ‘Ruby’. The show swiftly moved to the 90 cm class which saw Gia Trainer professionally and skilfully jump double clear rounds on ‘Loughshannon Lad’ and ‘Penny’.
This show will continue next Friday night in the indoor arena at 6.30 pm, classes x-poles – 1.0 m, where everyone will be received with a warm welcome.

Autumn SJI Horse League commences on Saturday 6th September at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m. League dates Saturday 6th, 20th and 27th September, 11th, 18th and 25th October, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and Final 29th November 2014.
Ulster Amateur Rider Of The Year Show on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September at 9.30 am, with on site stabling. Great sponsorship where prizes will be presented 1st to 8th place in all classes which are Welcome Stakes, Power and Speed , Amateur Derby and Grand Prix and Ulster Region Points Cup.
UCPBA End of Season Native M&M Breed Pony Sunday 21st September at 9.30 am also with a range of Working Hunter / Derby jumping classes.
Training Shows continue on Friday nights, jumping will move to the indoor arena and will commence at 6.30 pm sharp, X-Poles – 1.0 m classes, where everyone receives a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.
