Daniel Coyle landed the seventh round of the Leinster Summer Tour at Tattersalls in Co Meath with Linzi Johnston’s prolific winning mare Uptown Girl.
Earlier this year Coyle was crowned Horse Sport Ireland/Connolly’s RED MILLS Spring Tour Champion for the third year in a row, with Uptown Girl playing a key role winning multiple league rounds.
At Tattersalls LST, Coyle and the Concorde sired Uptown Girl were one again unbeatable, crossing the finish line clear in 26.91 seconds, with another northern rider Peter Smyth taking runner up spot with Admiran Cassio, the 12 year old son of Cassini I finishing clear in 27.40.
All of the top eight finishers produced double clear rounds, including Tom Slattery who took third place with the nine year old Carthago Z mare Castleforbes Cicely, while Captain Michael Kelly slotted into fourth with Mullentine Loughgall, a nine year old son of Tialoc M.
Kilkenny’s Eddie Moloney and Intro-Link Larry took fifth place just ahead of Alan O Regan in sixth with Electric Feel. Gary Quinn and Renolli finished seventh while Dermott Lennon took eighth spot with Calgot Pleasure, whose dam Liscalgot Lennon rode to victory in the world championships at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain in 2002
The Leinster Summer Tour (LST), which is supported by the forthcoming Leinster region ‘Greyhound Night’ Fundraiser at Shelbourne Park, which takes place on Thursday 7th August during RDS Dublin Horse Show week, now moves to South County Dublin Horse Show, for round nine of the series on Sunday 3rd August.
