Floodlight Grant Success – Big Lottery Award for Iveagh PC
Iveagh Branch of the Pony Club has been very generously funded to install floodlights around the main sand arena at their Pony Club grounds at Moyallon, Northern Ireland. Funding has been granted by The Big Lottery Fund, Awards for All Programme, in the form of a £10,000 grant and will make a huge difference to Pony Club life as the nights draw in and over the winter months. The addition of these lights will make Moyallon an all-year venue and will provide the members and their families with even better value for their membership subscription and field levy.
Moyallon will be open over the winter months for rallies, training, competitions and schooling. On occasions when there are no rallies, competitions or team training, any member can avail of the floodlit main arena for their own private schooling. The lights are operated on a coin metre. The work is being project managed by Billy McCombe, and yet again, the members of the Branch are deeply indebted to him for his unwavering hard work and commitment.
District Commissioner Mrs Vanne Campbell MBE confirmed, “Our Pony Club grounds, which are a hive of activity, a thriving community and family-like environment in the summer months, lie unused six days per week in the winter months. Our members get little opportunity to get together in the winter, however with these floodlights it is anticipated that our premises will be used six nights of the week throughout the winter bringing our community together all year long. We are delighted to be awarded this grant and are thankful and appreciative of the financial support from The Big Lottery Fund.”
