Altnastar Luke is Champion at Strule Valley

2014-05-10 15.57.25-1STRULE VALLEY RIDING CLUB in Omagh, Co Tyrone held a working hunter competition recently at Ecclesville, Fintona.  Thanks to those who came along to compete & support the show & very well done to all.  Thanks to Raymond Caldwell for course building, Julie McLaron for judging both the pony & horse classes, Nicola Mulligan scribing for both pony & horse classes, Henry Flood for doing the gate & Yvonne Chisholm.  Thanks also to Natasha Gilchrist for taking the entries & anyone else who helped in any way.

Well done to the winners of each class.  In the ponies Paddy & Henry Flood took the red rosette in the 60cm pony class, Latsy Sunday & Tia Smith won the 70cm ponies, Cruise & Charlotte Evason stood top of the line up in the 80cm pony class & Magic Minstral & Clara Daly had the 90cm class all to themselves!

 

Julie picked her pony champion  in Magic Minstral & Clara Daly with Paddy & Henry Flood taking reserve.

Moving on to the horses, winning the 70cm class was Freehall Beauty & Pamela Caldwell, taking the red rosette in the 80cm class was Bon Ami & Heather Smith, 90cm winner was Altnastar Luke & Jackie Conn & winning the metre class was Castle Blaze & Amanda Barr.

 

Julie chose her horse champion as Altnastar Luke & Jackie Conn & Reserve Bon Ami & Heather Smith.

 

Pamela Caldwell for the 2nd year in a row won the Rosie O’Grady Perpetual Cup for being the highest placed Strule Valley Riding Club member.

Further dates to remember: the annual summer showjumping league held at Ecclesville, Fintona commencing on Wednesday 2nd July, continuing on 9th, 16th & the final on Wednesday 23rd July.  Jumping commences at 7pm sharp each night.  This is open to everyone & we hope to see you there!  There will be beautiful cups for the winners of each class – the AJS Promotions Perpetual Cup, Strule Valley Riding Club Perpetual Cup, L W Surphlis & Son Perpetual Trophy, Good Gracious Perpetual Cup & the Omagh Equestrian & Countrywear Perpetual Cup.  Also the Fordie Cathers Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the highest placed SVRC member.
