Gemma Makes her Debut at Connell Hill’s Training Show
This fabulous weather fills everyone with the joys of spring and none more so than those competitors attending the Friday night Training Show at Connell Hill. All competitors turned up preparing to jump forward into Easter taking full advantage of jumping a most flowing colourful course in the outdoor arena with a first class surface. These training shows are hugely advantageous as we progress towards the summer shows as horses/ponies will have the advantage of competing in outdoor surroundings. Making their debut at Connell Hill in the X-Poles class was Gemma Surgeanor on ‘Sam’ jumping a clear round. Two young ladies having a most successful night as they jumped clear in the 50 cm class and then amongst double clears in the 60 cm class were Alex McMaster on ‘Val’ and Chloe Connon on ‘ Culsara Tianna’. There was no stopping Chloe picking up red ribbons as it was yet another double clear in the 70 cm class on ‘Moves Like Jagger’ with Georgia Kelly on ‘Ruby’, Sophie McPeake on ‘My Bubbles’, Naomi McCavanna on ‘Molly’ and Lucy McPeake on ‘My Bubbles’. As the night moved forward the arena crew prepared the course for the 80 cm class which saw Wendy Anderson up the heat with the first double clear on ‘Artic Poppy’ followed by Marie-Clarie Bell on ‘MJ’. Wendy then on ‘Artic Poppy’, with the previous double clear under her saddle took the challenge of the 90 cm class, jumping double clear with Chloe Smyth on ‘Macy Grey’.
