Outdoor Training at Connell Hill

Now that Spring has finally sprung it was Training Outdoor for all at Connell Hills’ Training Show on Friday night.  Competitors warmed up indoor to then jump in the scenic outdoor with an array of colour full fences, a huge advantage with the fast approaching outdoor shows.  Music, P.A system and outdoor bell has an altogether different bearing on how your horse may perform without the addition of vehicle/public movement so therefore outdoor jumping at Connell Hill is the ideal preparation for the incoming season.  The night commenced with the 50 cm class with Hugo O’Neill on ‘Mr Jiggly Puff ‘ and Alex McMaster on ‘Val’, taking it all in their stride jumping clear rounds.  The clear blue sky saw the start of the 60 cm class which invited competitors to quickly warm up indoor to return outdoor with Taylor Hunter on ‘Ballybollen Blue’, Alex McMaster on ‘Val’ and Hugo O’Neill on ‘Sugar Supreme’ collect red rosettes for double clear rounds.  Hugo on ‘Sugar Supreme’ and Taylor on ‘Ballybollen Blue’ then went on to jump double clear in the 70 cm class with Victoria Nelson on ‘Willow’ and Georgia Kelly on ‘Ruby’.  The cookie did’nt crumble when it came to the more technical 80 cm class as Ashleigh Lyle jumped a super double clear on ‘One Touch Cookie’ with Gia Trainer on ‘Lough Shannagh Lad’.

 

Training Shows will continue next Friday night at 6.30 pm, X-Poles – 1.10 m classes, where everyone will receive a warm welcome with café facilities for hot and cold drinks/snacks.

 

Ulster Region Pony League Show Jumping on Saturday 12^th April at 9.30 am.

 

*PLEASE NOTE*: SJI Horse League continues on Sunday 13^th April at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.  League dates are Sunday13th, Saturday 19^th April and final on 26^th April.  Competitors must jump at five league dates to qualify for final.

 

Cash Jumping Ireland Show on Tuesday 22^nd April at 10.00 am, classes 60 cm – 1.30 m, this show is designed for all show jumpers whatever level, providing fair competition for all.  For more information on Cash Jumping or to register go to www.cashjumpingireland.com

 

5 Week SJI Horse League commencing Saturday 3^rd May, 10^th, 17^th, 24^th and final on 31^st May at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.
