Knockaghview Equestrian Centre was a hive of activity on Sunday for the second round of the Ulster Schools’ Show Jumping Championships. Schools from all over the province made the journey to Greenisland.  The arena was looking brilliant thanks to course builder Alistair Megahey and the team at Knoackagh View and of course the sun shone all day.

In the novice team completion 3 teams made it through to the jump off.  Ballymena Academy had two teams with Dalriada making up the third.  Ballymena proved impossible to beat, although Dalriada put up a good effort to finish in second.

Belfast Royal Academy had 2 teams in the open competition that finished on zero faults.  Jessica Johnston and Amy Wilson jumped off for BRA’s Pottinger team to win the competition ahead of their team mates Justine Harding and Amber Vick.

Primary School Individual honours went to Cerys Howell on her amazing pony Runaway Dolly who certainly cut all corners to record a very fast time, Cerys was also second on her other pony with Charley Hannah in third.

There were record entries in the Novice Individual competition were victory went to Ciara Gilroy with her team mate Alex Ryan in second and third.

The USSJ was sponsored by sponsored by Wilsons Auction. For further information please Stuart Tel 07736009189 or email smurphy534@c2kni.net the next round of the Ulster Schools’ is on Saturday 7th December.
