Friday Night’s a ‘Delight’ at Connell Hill
As the weather is turning considerably colder competitors still make the effort to turn out and jump an indoor course at Connell Hills Training Show. This venue proves to be so advantageous to the younger/novice rider and also the horse as schooling plays such an important role in any career. Here the rider learns the ropes of jumping over a course of fences at a show before progressing on to a higher level of competition and also the horse is introduced to a show atmosphere. The younger riders had a delightful night in the 50 cm class when Adam Sossick on ‘Loughview Sweet Delight’, Elle McDonald on ‘Sunny’, Bethany Gordon on ‘Dunshane’, Max McDonald on ‘Cocky’ and Cameron Weatherup on ‘Sugartime’ all jumped clear rounds. It was a busy night for Judith Sossick, Loughview Stud, presenting red rosettes with a full house of double clears in the 60 cm class. Competitors benefiting from this training show as jumping skills improve with double clears in the 70 cm class and taking them forward to greater heights were Alanna Dunlop on ‘Gemma SC’, Tammy McCammond on ‘Charlie’ and Pat McGarry on ‘Cynciti’. Lucy Hanna on her star of the future ‘Rock Black and Blue’ picked up a red rosette as they jumped double clear in the 90 cm.
Training Show for Horses and Ponies continue on Friday nights, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes.
Autumn SJI Pony League 24th November, 1st December and Final 21st December at 10.00 am all usual classes.
Autumn SJI Horse League continues on 16th 23rd and Final on 30th November at 10.00 am, 80 cm – 1.30 m classes.
3 & 4 Year Old Pony Loose Jumping final on Tuesday19th November at 7.00 pm.
James Wray Trust Working Hunter Show on Sunday 17th November at 10.00 am.
Half Bred 3 Year Old Loose jumping on Tuesday 26th November at 7.00 pm.
