Martin Echos at Connell Hill

The stormy weather did not faze the young horses that entered the arena to jump at Connell Hill on Thursday night as they gain confidence week after week by jumping in an indoor arena where their schooling is an enjoyable experience.  As the weather is pretty much unpredictable this is the ideal opportunity to get your horse out and train in first class surroundings.  First time outings to a show were Echo ridden by Martin McCloskey and Goldy ridden by Mark Calvert in the 70 cm class which saw these young horses find their stride over a course of fences that was free-flowing built by Will Crean.  The 80 cm class saw Noel McKee on Keeford Carrie, Emma Dodds on Luxy and Katy Connor on Sam jumping double clear rounds.  Keeping this all important aspect of schooling and training to the fore saw Louise Houston on Tom, Elaine Mason on Ruby, Luke Campbell on Almaz and one to watch for the future Dean Bell on RBS Euro Jewel take home red rosettes as they jumped double clears in the 90 cm class, with Martin McCloskey on Tabby jump a double clear in the 1.10 m class.

 These training shows will continue next Thursday and Friday at 6.30 pm where everyone is welcome to come along.
