Week ending 6th October 2013, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre

It was a busy week in the Craig household as between them, mum Victoria and daughter Sarah competed, with great success on no less than four occasions over four disciplines at Ravensdale Lodge. It all started on Thursday morning when Victoria partnered Rocky clear over the unregistered 70cm class prior to the eight SJI registered classes at Ravensdale Lodge. On Friday evening it was the turn of seven year old Sarah who went clear over the cross poles track in the Botanica International sponsored indoor horse & pony training league. Victoria was back for more with Rocky as the combination were only one of three combinations to go clear over the 85cm track at the Horse First sponsored indoor arena eventing league on Saturday. Not content with that the partnership then went on to win class 3 in the O’ Reillys Wholesalers Newry indoor dressage league on Sunday finishing on a great score of 66.36%. Show organisers put Rocky’s good run of form down to the time he spent stabled at Ravensdale Lodge as Victoria commuted daily from her base in Rathfriland, mind you Victoria would have probably bunked down beside Rocky given half a chance!

Competitions continue this week with SJI registered show jumping on Thursday as week three of the Tonino Lamborghini sponsored league takes place from 11am with six registered classes from 80cm (M) to 1.30m (M), for anyone who wish to jump the 70cm & 80cm unregistered classes these need to be jumped before 11am.

The Botanica International indoor horse & pony training league continues on Friday from 5.30pm with usual classes from X poles to 1.10m while arena eventing takes centre stage on Saturday with the Horse First sponsored indoor arena eventing league from 3pm for the 70cm class which will be followed by an 85cm class (not before 4pm) and the 1m class (not before 5pm).

There was a large turnout for week two of the O’ Reillys Wholesalers Newry €1000 charity indoor dressage league and this popular run of shows continues on Sunday from 2pm with weekly classes on the Ravensdale Lodge website.

Four shows over four days with four class wins for Victoria & Sarah Craig, not bad going and it starts all over again this coming week at Ravensdale Lodge.
