A Real ‘BUZZ’ at Connell Hill
Achievement, confidence building, and fitness is the aim for Connell Hill training shows as aid and advice are all on hand to help not only the rider but the horse.
Both novice horses and riders have been seen to benefit from the series of shows offered by the equestrian centre. The first class of the night was the 50 cm class which saw Ciara Heron on ‘Dirraw Sahara’, Chloe McMullan on ‘Teddy’ and Rhiannon Loughran on ‘Dirraw Sahara’ all jump clear rounds. Ciara Heron on ‘Dirraw Sahara’ and Chloe McMullan on ‘Teddy’ then went on to have double clears in the 60 cm class.
The 70 cm class saw Lydia McLeister on ‘Ollie’ jump a super double clear, Kirsty McKenna take her new horse ‘Amigo’ over a double clear as did Sophie Clugston on her star pony ‘Buzz’. It was a real ‘Buzz’ when it came to the 80 cm class as it was a full house with double clears. Fergus Reid on ‘Springhill Rebel’, a novice horse, jumped a double clear in the 90 cm as did Kirsty Mckenna on ‘Bowler Brigade’ who also jumped double clear in the 1.0 m class.
PLEASE NOTE NO Training Show for Horses and Ponies on Friday night, 12th July, but will continue the following Friday night, 19th July, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes where everyone is welcome to come along and socialise with a hot snack, tea/coffee/soft drink from the cafe. SJI Horse League continues on Thursday 11th, 18th July, final on Thursday 25th July, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m, starting at 10.00 am.
Summer Dressage Show Sunday 28th July, at 10.00 am, Class 1 – Intro B (2009), Class 2 – Prelim 4 (2002), Class 3 – Prelim 10 (2002), Class 4 – Novice 30 (2006) & Class 5 – Elementary 49 (2009). Entries to Grace on 077 65 88 42 54, closing date Thursday 25th July. Times available by text to Grace on Friday 26th July, 7.00 – 9.00 pm.
