CAFRE StudentsDo you want a career with Horses? Are you employed in an Equestrian business? Would you like to work towards a recognised industry qualification in Horse Care? Do you want to continue to work while you gain your qualification?

If you have answered yes to these questions, the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care could be for you. This is a work based training course that enables employees to gain a qualification whilst in paid employment. You will develop your practical skills and technical knowledge of horse management and care.  Being able to learn whilst you earn allows you to further your prospects by working with experienced staff and receiving relevant and appropriate training.

CAFRE are currently recruiting for the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care which will be starting in September. Students who are accepted onto the course will continue to work in their current workplace but will also receive training from CAFRE staff in their place of work and at various out-centres. The course is expected to take between 12 and 18 months to complete and students will need to attend a number of short block release sessions.

The main benefits of the course are that learners can continue to earn while they train towards their qualification and this course can fit easily around family and work commitments. The Apprenticeship will enable learners to achieve industry recognised qualifications as well as relevant practical experience which will assist them throughout their career.

The course is made up of four main elements: Level 2 Work Based Diploma in Horse Care, First Aid Certificate, Level 2 Certificate in Horse Knowledge & Care, and Essential Skills.

There are financial and practical advantages to employers who will benefit from well trained, motivated and practical employees, who have gained a unique advantage from the various training experiences that they encounter throughout the course.
