No Sunshine Just ‘Moonshine’ at Connell Hill
The atrocious rain on Saturday stopped the motorbikes but it certainly did not stop the show jumpers as they turned out to jump at the SJI league at Connell Hill. Spectators packed into the viewing gallery keeping dry and enjoying a snack as they watched these magnificent equines gracefully jump a super course of fences. The day started with the 80 cm class which saw this new combination John Reid on ‘Currabawn French Touch’ having a successful future as they jumped double clear. Making it all look simple in the 90 cm class with a double clear was Claire Spillane-Pattison on ‘Little Task’, as did Paul Tang on ‘Neat Mamma Mia’ when it came to the 1.0 m class. There was no stopping, rain or no rain, Alison R McClean on ‘Shilow Natal’ when it came to the 1.10 m and 1.20 m classes as they zoomed into first place in both classes, competition rose as the 1.30 m class started, but Kevin Mackey on ‘Legavallons Moonshine’ very technically jumped this super mare into first place.
SJI Horse League 25th May with final on Thursday 30th May at 10.00 am, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m.
New SJI Horse League on Thursday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th June, 4th, 11th, 18th July, final on Thursday 25th July, classes 80 cm – 1.30 m, starting 10.00 am.
The Training Shows for horses and ponies continue on Friday nights, at 6.30 pm, 50 cm – 1.10 m classes where everyone is welcome to come along and socialise with a hot snack, tea/coffee/soft drink from the cafe.
