Holy Joe SDS Is Champion Horse at Strule Valley
A working hunter competition was organised by STRULE VALLEY RIDING CLUB in Omagh, Co Tyrone recently & held at The Ecclesville Centre, Fintona. Thanks to everyone who braved the weather to come along & support the show.
Thanks to Declan O’Neill from Moy, Dungannon for taking on the job of judge for both ponies & horses, thanks to Pearl Donnell entries, Raymond & Pamela Caldwell course building with Alan Gilchrist, Emma King, Natasha Gilchrist & Helen Badger gate & AJS Catering for providing refreshments. Thanks to anyone else who helped in any way to make the day fun & a success.

Little Katie Gibson & her very nicely turned out pony Tiny Sally enjoyed taking part in the 60cm pony class. Well done to young Kate Geoghegan & her very nice pony Vicky who travelled from Donegal Pony Club to take part; winning both the 70cm & 80cm pony classes; then going on to take reserve working hunter pony.
Seskinore & Ecclesville RC member Aisling Monaghan & the very smartly turned out Murphy was the clear winner of the 90cm pony class & went on to take the title of champion working hunter pony.
The horses had a good entry in the 80cm & 90cm classes. Standing top of the line in the 70cm & 80cm classes was Strule Valley RC member Pamela Caldwell & her sister Jackie Flood’s lovely little grey mare Beauty. Taking the red rosette in the 90cm horse class was Clogher Valley Riding Club member Ethan Denton & Galpyso, following closely in 2nd place was Moorlough Riding Club member Nadine Arthur & the eye catching Holy Joe SDS. Ethan went on to take reserve working hunter horse. The 1st & 2nd placings were then moved around in the metre horse class with Nadine & Holy Joe SDS winning & Ethan & Galypso taking the blue rosette this time round! Nadine & Holy Joe SDS then went on to take the coveted working hunter horse champion rosette. Well done to everyone for taking part!
Strule Valley RC member Pamela Caldwell & Beauty were delighted to be awarded with the Rosie O’Grady Perpetual Cup for being the highest placed SVRC member. The cup was kindly presented by Mr & Mrs Noel Regan.
