What’s On at Strule Valley Riding Club?
The annual summer showjumping league is planned for Wednesdays 19th & 26th June & Wednesday 3rd July with the final being on Wednesday 10th July at Ecclesville; commencing at 7pm with the 60cm class followed by 70cm, 80cm, 90cm & 1 metre. The metre class includes a timed jump off round for those wishing to practice their jump off’s against the clock! The Club are hoping to secure Perpetual Cups for each of these classes this year, for awarding on the final night to the league winners. Everyone is very welcome to come along.
Currently members are enjoying showjumping training with Mandi King & Phillippa McKee will return at the end of the month to take members for a session of flatwork training.
The summer schedule commences at the beginning of June & William Anderson is the instructor for 2 weeks at O’Hagan’s arena, Seskinore. Members also look forward to the forthcoming NIRC Showjumping Championships at The Meadows Equestrian Centre in June.
A cross country schooling session will take place at Drumragh House by kind permission of Mr & Mrs David Campbell at the start of July & Mandi King will return to take members for showjumping training at Tyrone Farming Society Showgrounds after Omagh Show by kind permission of Tyrone Farming Society & Mandi will continue these lessons through July. A cross country schooling session & BBQ has also been arranged for the end of July at Beltrim Castle, Gortin by kind permission of Lucinda Blakiston-Houston.
To finish the summer schedule a hack will take place at Castle Leslie Equestrian Centre in August & also a beach ride at Murvagh, Co Donegal.
