Weather Won’t Dampen Spirits at Ardnacashel

| July 21, 2015

alice magillOn the rather damp and windy evening of 16th July saw week 6 of Ardnacashel Equestrian’s show jumping league take place.

There was just one competitor in the x-pole to 50 cm class which is kindly sponsored by Tony Heaney Contracts. This was Alice Magill riding Bernie who jumped a lovely double clear gaining three points towards the final.

Sarah Brashaw and Iolo jumped a double clear in the 60cm to 70 cm class which is kindly sponsored by Greenville Eletrical Supplies. Nicole McClements and her young horse Lara who is improving week by week jumped two lovely rounds with just an unfortunate four faults giving them one point towards their final score. Finally in this class Alice Magill and Bernie were back into the arena and again, jumped very stylishly round with only four faults!

sarah brashawIn the 70 cm to 80 cm class which is very kindly sponsored by Ferndale Boarding Kennels and Doggy Day care we saw the return of Felicity Johnston and Mistletoe who had a break from the league to attend pony camp. They jumped a fantastic double clear as did Samantha Ross with Cardi Cruise and Rebecca Connolly on Flymo. Other competitors who scored one point towards their final in this class were Gareth Carlisle on Maggie, Bailey Dunn riding Freddie and Sarah Brashaw piloting Jimmy.  William Girvin with Milo also had a school round in this class in attempts to keep warm for the final class of the evening!

The final class was the 1m which is very kindly sponsored by BEFAB Ltd. The double clears were Gwen Scott on a lovely coloured mare called Tonto, Caroline Morris on board her faithful Cavalier Mealough Lass and Georgia Kirkwood riding Tia Maria. These competitors have all gained three points towards the final. Other competitors who have each obtained one point in this class were Kim Dunn riding Ckeeko, Bailey Dunn on board Boo, Ciara Gilroy on her handsome gelding Blu and William Girvin with Milo.

Well done to all these competitors! Hope to see you all again next week and please do not forget double points will be awarded at the Final!
