New Training Show For Horses at Connell Hill

connellhillAt the second of this years Friday nights training show saw some new and novice horses entering the arena. In the 50 cm class both Catherine Cameron on Gem and Emma McManus on Misty decided to take full advantage of this useful training and jumped their horses twice over this course. Showing great promise and gaining confidence is Eva Gaston on Sandy who jumped a double clear in the 60 cm class. The 70 cm class saw Beth Boone on Polly taking the red rosette when they jumped a double clear with Olivia McCormick taking the blue on her young horse Pheobe. Equal first went to Richard Hutchinson on his new mount Mr Ziggy and Nicole Cameron on Tanner. De Ja Vu for Dawn McKeown on Legaland Tadmus when first place was claimed in the 90 cm and 1.0 m class when they jumped a double clear in both classes.

These training shows will take on a little bit more competition as the Friday night training shows will be for ponies and training shows for horses will be held on Thursday nights. Both shows will start at 6.30 pm, pony classes 50 cm – 1.0 m and horse classes 70 cm – 1.20 m. So what better way to introduce your young horse to the world of show jumping as these shows are not only aimed at schooling the young horse and novice rider as help and advice is always on hand but also to aid in the fitness programme as the SJI League will be commencing for horses on Saturday 2nd February, 10.00 am start and ponies Sunday 3rd March 10.00 am start.

80 cm – Nicole Cameron – Tanner, Beth Boone – Polly, Richard Hutchinson – Mr Ziggy

90 cm – Martin McCloskey – Amy, Dawn McKeown – Legaland Tadmus

1.0 m – Martin McCloskey – Amy, Dawn McKeown – Legaland Tadmus
