| June 30, 2015

ArdnacashelOn the evening of the 25th July saw the third week of Ardnacashel Equestrian’s Show Jumping League take place. There were quite a number of new faces at this week’s competition and some lovely horses. Victoria Teuton riding Alfie jumped superbly round the 60-70 cm course and only on completion mentioned that it was his first ever round of fences! Elaine Gardener on board a beautiful grey youngster, Ollie, also jumped the 60-70 cm course faultlessly.

The double clears in the cross pole to 50 cm class which is very kindly sponsored by Tony Heaney Contracts were as follows. Katrina Griffen riding Finn, Anya Teuton on board her trusty stead Starlight and Zara Wood piloting Max. These competitors all score three points towards the Final.

ArdnacashelIn the 60cm – 70 cm class sponsored by Greenville Electrical Supplies the double clears were Lois-Anne Townsley riding the lovely Charlie Buzz, Caroline Patton with Chester and the previously mentioned Elaine Gardener riding Ollie.

Following this class was the 70cm – 80 cm very kindly sponsored by Ferndale Boarding Kennels and Doggy Day Care. The double clears were Siobhan Mulligan on her coloured cob Penny, Rebecca Connolly riding her beautil bay horse Flymo, Felicity Johnston who rode a lovely quiet double clear on Mistletoe, Karen Jeffery on board  Junior, Judith Jackson riding James, Gillian Neil clear all the way on Atty, Andrew Getty riding Calum and his wife Sharron Getty riding Gracie.

In the final class of the night which was the 90 cm – 1m very kindly sponsored by BEFAB Ltd, saw just one double clear which was William Girvin with Milo. He receives three points towards the final and both the other competitors in this class (Kim Dunn with Cheeko and Caroline Morris riding Cavalier Mealough Lass) with both score one point towards the final.

Competitors must jump in four weeks of the eight (including the final) to be eligible for prizes. All competitors will receive one point for competing regardless of faults and all double clears receive three points which are kept on record and will help determine placings along with a jump off at the final. Competitors in the cross pole to 50 cm class will draw for prizes. All under 12’s receive a rosette regardless of faults and there are rosettes for all of the double clears! Hope to see even more competitors next week! Well done everybody!Ardnacashel
