On 31st May was Ardnacashel Equestrian’s exciting final of the show jumping league. With a mixture of excitement and pre competition nerves in the air, the day started off with the cross pole class. Matthew Cresswell and Bess set the standard of the day by jumping a stylish round and taking 1st place! The fences were then altered in height for the 60 cm class in which sisters Katie and Jessica Murdock had both qualified for. Mary McLeagh riding George jumped a faultless round with Jessica Murdock riding Minstrel coming 2nd and Katie Murdock riding Jake winning 1st place!

The 70 cm class came next. Hanna Thompson riding Promise rode their way into first place due to their quick twists and turns in the jump off. Lara McComb and her courageous Connemara, Bobby, were hot on Hannah’s heels coming in a close 2nd. Samantha Ross and Jo Jo received a well-deserved third place after their polished rounds of jumping.

The 80 cm class did not phase our competitors either! Megan Hegarty riding Miss Ruby won this class followed by Hanna Thompson this time riding Sandy coming in 2nd position! William Girvan and Dorothy Gourley then went head to head in the 90 cm class. William was piloting Forest Glade and won the class with Dorothy on board her beautiful coloured cob Guinness certainly were worthy competitors riding their way into 2nd place. William Girvan and Forest Glade also took first place in the 1m competition! Very well done to them along with the rest of our competitors! Hope to see you all at our next show jumping league starting on 11th June at 6.30 pm with the cross pole class!

Then on the lovely summers evening of 4th June, saw Ardnacashel Equestrian’s final training show take place. Kenzie Dickson riding her gorgeous pony Cotton Sox jumped a fabulous double clear. Rozy Corry and Calyvan jumped two faultless rounds in the 50 cm class with Anna Dunlop riding a determined round on board Berry. Ruth Hendry and her chilled out mount named Walter jumped very well in the 60 cm class as did Cotton Sox with Ellie Dickson on board in the 70 cm class.

Double clears in the 80 cm class were Emma Martin and her lovely coloured mare called Kate. Two of our competitors, Lisa Corry and Caroline Morris each rode one round in the 80 cm class and one round at 90cm. Lisa Corry riding Jo Jo who has only been returned to work after a long break from his previous eventing career jumped both rounds with no faults. Caroline Morris and Lucinda just had an unfortuna
