Ravensdale in Co Louth hosted the third round of the Pegus Leinster Summer Tour on Saturday, where Galway’s Sven Hadley riding Carla claimed victory in a tough competition that yielded just three double-clear rounds.
Hadley has had a busy few months, competing on the sunshine tour in Spain in the early part of the season before returning to Ireland and he has now joined Dermott Lennon and Michael Hutchinson as a winner on the 2015 Pegus Leinster Summer Tour, stopping the clock clear in 42.54 seconds with the Canto sired eight-year-old mare Carla.
Former Aga Khan nations cup team member Nicola Fitzgibbon finished as runner-up with Castleforbes Paddington, the Lady Georgina Forbes owned 12-year-old Padarco stallion finished just under a second slower than the winner(43.32).
Co Down’s Kirsten Farr was the only other rider to jump a double clear round and was rewarded with a third place finish with R Candy, an 11-year-old Heartbreaker mare who is out of a dam by Lloyd. Sven Hadley also filled fourth spot after finishing the second phase with just one time-fault aboard Quanbell, while Fiona Cambell slotted into fifth with Sallymount Touch of Clover, while Deirdre Reilly and La Bouvarie finished in sixth.
The Pegus Leinster Summer Tour now moves Balivor Show in Co Meath to for the fourth round of the series on June 14th.
