Pegus Leinster Summer Tour Jumps Off on Sunday at Louth
The 2015 Pegus Leinster Summer Tour gets underway this weekend, with Louth County Show hosting the opening round of the series on Sunday, just outside Dundalk.A huge start-list of 74 horses and riders have declared for Sunday’s “Rock Cabs” sponsored competition, including many of Ireland’s top Show Jumping stars.
Francis Connors, Clem McMahon and reigning LST champion Peter Smyth are just some of the stand-out entries, who will battle with many of the sports up-and-coming riders such as Kilkenny’s European Pony Gold- Medallist Susan Fitzpatrick, who will ride Cavalino.
The Pegus L.S.T [1.35M] will visit 14 venues across the province during the coming months, with the final round taking place at the Irish Breeders Classic in September, carrying a total prize fund in excess of €20,000.
The top Young Rider in the Pegus LST will receive a bursary of a full week’s training with Olympic Bronze Medallist Cian O Connor, with accommodation for both horse and rider provided at his Karlswood Stables base in Co Meath.
