Amazon Style at Connell Hill
As we edge our way, albeit it carefully, out of winter equine enthusiasts are preparing for the spring with training and fitness a top priority and where better to prepare than Connell Hill which has first class facilities. These include warm-up/cool-down arena and indoor arena all with a superb surface, colourful show jumping fences and on hand help and guidance. The Training Show on Friday night, which is ideal for introducing the novice horse to the world of show jumping, saw a large number of competitors ‘jump’ at this opportunity. The show commenced with the x-poles followed by the 40 cm class which saw Donna Campbell jump clear on her novice horse ‘Ruby’ who then jumped clear in the 50 cm class. The course then adjusted for the 60 cm class saw a full house of double clear rounds. The then challenging 70 cm class saw Myah McLean jump double clear to a round of applause on ‘Justice’. Barry McCormick opened the 80 cm class with a double clear on the very appropriately named ‘Flight’. The arena crew swiftly set the 90 cm class which saw a very stylish double clear for Gillian McCann on ‘Amazon’.
