Ashley Kelly Plays Her Cards Right at Connell Hill
Amidst the winter snow blizzards competitors loaded up and travelled to Connell Hills Training Show on Friday night, jumping tracks in preparation for the forthcoming season. Connell Hills Training Show is a most sure ground start to all riders and horses as both the outdoor and indoor arenas have a superb surface which is carefully maintained which aids confidence. Rebecca Saunderson confidently commenced the show with a clear round in the x-poles on ‘Col’. Double clear rounds in the 60 cm class were claimed by Bethany Gordon on ‘Shane’ and Ashley Kelly on ‘Blue’. Bethany and ‘Shane’ were then amongst the double clears in the 70 cm class. Ashley Kelly played her cards right demonstrating control and precision jumping the only double clear in the 80 cm class on ‘Jack of Hearts’. Horses on box rest or not out for a while this show is the perfect opportunity to bring them on again and get ‘set’ to go in a comfortable safety conscious environment. The course adjusted for the 90 cm class saw Cherie McHugh on ‘Morgan’ and Stuart Gillespie on ‘Archie’ jump double clear rounds. This hospitable show then saw some very skilful riding as Glenn Davis on ‘Flash’ and Jayne Clarke on ‘Joey’ jumped double clear in the 1.0 m class to end the night.
