Iveagh Dengie Dressage Competition Hots Up For Week Two
Week two of the Iveagh Dressage League showed an increase in competitors attending both dressage and show-jumping phases. For several competitors it was their first time doing dressage on a new horse, or even first time doing dressage, and the judges Judith McBride and Myra Watters were able to provide some helpful pointers. Once again Vicky Campbell won her class, this time closely pursued by Caitie Slater and the other section was won by Daniel Kehoe ahead of Joanna Eames, Joanna was a last minute substitution for her brother, so she was kept busy changing saddles and warming up two ponies. The Intro class was won by Ciara Mulholland this week and the Open class won by Erin Burns who despite her tender years rode a very polished test on Harry Hoot. In second place was a new combination of Kathryn King on Isaac de la Bouverie.
Clear round jumping was available in the other arena, for both dressage and non-dressage riders. Aaron and his team had once again built an interesting course providing lots for young horses (and even some older ones) to look at!
Sunday 8th February is the next dressage competition and Dengie Dressage qualifier. This will be combined with a Dengie Show-Jumping Qualifier starting with Juniors at 11am. Dressage must be pre-entered. Details on the Iveagh Pony Club website.
