Competitors ‘Blow’ Into Training Show at Connell Hill
Its Friday, and where better to spark off the weekend than at Connell Hill, competitors blew into your number one venue to jumps tracks at the Indoor Training Show. Here you can bring your novice horse or indeed you the novice rider as an introduction to the competition environment in safety conscious surroundings with the added benefit of a helping hand. The evening ‘blew’ off with x-poles class with the McAllister sisters, Charlotte and Sophie, jumping clear on ‘Timmy’ with Erin McCartney jumping clear on ‘Tilly’ in the 50 cm class.
The 60 cm class got under way with well controlled stylish double clears for Beth McCartney on ‘Folly’, Jodie Creighton on ‘Monarch’ and Ashely Kelly on ‘Jack of Hearts’. Ashley and ‘Jack of Hearts’ then went on to jump double clear in the 70 cm class with Gaby Morgan on ‘Tabby’, William Hamilton on ‘Bubbles’ and Stephanie Scullion on ‘Ozzy’. As the wind blew this did not deter riders taking advantage of this show to brush up on riding skills and train as the 80 cm class commenced with double clears for Lindsey Cameron on ‘Jess’, Leah McLeister on ‘Chico’ and the very happy-go-lucky Brigid Delargy on ‘Herbie’.
The course adjusted for the 90 cm class required control and precision of stride which saw Dean Cotton jump double clear on ‘Cookstown Shutterfly’ and Jane Clarke on ‘Joey’ with Jane and ‘Joey’ then taking the 1.0 m challenge to jump double clear. This Training Show will continue next Friday x-poles to 1.10 m at 6.30 pm so trot on over who knows this could be your pathway to bigger things to come.
