Ardnacashel Christmas Jingles Jump Cross

On Saturday the 27 December 2014 Ardnacashel Equestrian held its annual Christmas Jump Cross which was kindly sponsored by Top Star Christmas Trees, Tullynagee Road, Comber. There were lots of new faces together with our regular competitors eager to get the day underway. The complimentary mince pies and mulled wine kept the cold at bay for both spectators and riders.  The course itself was made up of a fantastic mix of portable cross country, working hunter and show jumping fences.

The competition began with a large 60/70 class.  The competitors were met with a testing course to help blow away the Christmas Cobwebs.  Claire Dobbin riding the fantastic Louie rode a brilliant round into first place in this class and they were also the fastest time of the day, they are a super combination.  Karen Jeffrey on Junior made their round look easy and took 3rd place in the rankings.  The 85 cm class also proved to be very popular and was hotly contested.

There were lots of great combinations competing. Judith Jackson riding Som rode a great clear round and went on to secure 3rd Place.  Anna Lyons riding her new horse Rafa rode a flawless round and went on to take fourth place. Both Orla Cunningham riding Xena and Jazz Vollands riding Pippa narrowly missed out on getting placed after producing foot perfect rounds.   The Red Rosette in this class went to Regan McKee on her very talented mare Willow.  The 1m class victor was Susanne Posnett riding Gin & Tonic and 2nd place going to Vicky Dobbin riding Villa Imp.
