Week ending 16th November 2014, results Ravensdale Lodge Equestrian & Event Centre.

The recent torrential rainfall did not deter combinations from finding their way to Ravensdale Lodge to compete this past week. More availed of the opportunity to hire the indoor arenas at the centre to school animals which they could not exercise at home due to flooded arenas. These heavy and prolonged downpours seem to be following a trend over the past few years and it appears that this wet spell of weather is set to continue for a while yet. No such worries at Ravensdale Lodge as combinations are assured of good indoor facilities to compete in keeping horse & rider high and dry. Competitions continue this week with SJI registered jumping for horses on Thursday. This league has a start time of 11am and six modified classes from 80cm to 1.30m. Horse & pony training continues on Friday evening from 5.30pm and this league which is sponsored by Botanica International has classes for all starting at X poles moving up the heights to 1.10m. Saturday afternoon sees jumping continue with the Horse First sponsored indoor arena eventing league. This popular mix of show jumps and portable cross-country fences has a start time of 2pm for the 70cm class, followed by the 85cm class at 3pm and 1m class at 4pm. These courses will typically have up to 22 jumping efforts, half of which will be portables and are seen as a great training ground for young or inexperienced animals by riders and producers. They are also great for seasoned campaigners who want to compete for the wonderful weekly prizes on offer or just to have some fun. There are weekly class prizes on offer for all classes with five or more entries for Friday evenings horse & pony training league and Saturday afternoons indoor arena eventing league courtesy of Botanica International & Horse First respectively. For further information on these or any forthcoming events log on to www.ravensdalelodge.com or contact the office.
