Competition Builds for Penultimate League Show at Connell Hill
Connell Hill welcomed competitors who loaded up and travelled to the SJI Horse League on Saturday following the extremely wet weather conditions during the week leaving many arenas water logged and therefore impossible to train/school their horses. With this league drawing to an end there is one week left, next Saturday 22nd November, before the final on Saturday 29th November at 9.30 am, competitors to have jumped at four show dates to qualify for final. Looking to the future David Taylor made a very worthwhile trip to Connell Hill successfully jumping double clear on, Anthony Wrights’, ‘Furisto Girl’ and, Trevor Overends, ‘CJO Curiosity Lux’ in the 90 cm class. Also mastering double clears were Janene Gamble on her own ‘Lenamore Master Maguire’ and Nikita Cochrane on her own ‘Vromy’ with double celebrations for Janet Currie who was celebrating her birthday and claiming red on ‘Curolea Bobi’. Fiona Stevenson then claimed her red rosette for a well controlled double clear in the 1.0 m class on her own mare ‘Kellistown Blue Chip’. The tailor made 1.10 m class saw double clears for Luke Campbell on ‘Marlene McCrums’, ‘Tailormade For Me’, Shannon Robinson on, Joy Robinsons, ‘Auburn Luna’ and Elaine Quinn who watched her strides and cruised home with double clears on her own ‘Watch Your Step’ and ‘Lama Cruise’. Gary Marshall then took control and won the 1.20 m and 1.30 m classes on his stallion ‘Claudio’.
