Julie’s Day at Strule Valley

STRULE VALLEY RIDING CLUB in Omagh, Co Tyrone held their 1^st Indoor 2-phase show at the weekend at The Ecclesville Centre, Fintona on a beautiful autumn day!

The Club would like to thank those who came along to compete & try something a little different. The skinny style, straw bales, logs, brush fence, brush/roller, cottage fence all rode nicely after riders competed over their showjumps as the 1^st phase!

Thanks to Raymond & Pamela Caldwell for building an inviting course, Pearl Donnell & Jane Huey refreshments with Lucinda Blakiston-Houston, Yvonne Chisholm entries & Chris Bogle judging, Alison Donnell call up & to all others who helped put fences up & tidy them away afterwards.

Well done to the winners of each class – Victoria Graham & Spiffy from Moy took the red rosette in the 60cm class with local lady Liz Wilson & her new little bay horse Bright in 2^nd place. Winning the 70cm class was Fermanagh Harriers Pony Club member Ciara Owen & her grey pony Spot & taking the blue rosette in this class was Heather Williams & Jubbie.  Janet Furlong rode very nice rounds in the 80cm class with Horace to stand top of the line up with Nicola McDermott & Morgan taking 2^nd place.  Julie Coalter nee Burleigh had a busy day with her support team competing 4 horses at the show.  She won the 90cm class with Tequila & the metre class with Chardonnay.  Well done to all!

Phillippa McKee is now taking members for flatwork training for 2 weeks & Dale Roberts will visit the club on Wednesday 15^thOctober for dressage training.  The AGM also takes place in October.  Members & friends are invited to come along & members are reminded that their annual membership is now due.
